A section of each volume (dossier) will be dedicated to a specific topic. Anuario Latinoamericano is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, created in 2014, published semiannually by the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in print and digitally. The editors of the journal have set various objectives to be fulfilled by the publication: to ensure continuous contact of readers, researchers and students with current issues in the field of Latin American political studies; to integrate and deepen scientific cooperation; to promote intellectual exchange among scientists from national and foreign research centers. CALL FOR PAPERS |
|
We are pleased to announce the call for papers for the volume 18/2026 of Anuario Latinoamericano. The Dossier entitled "Latin America: Violence and Politics", coordinated by Margarita Jiménez Badillo and Gabino Solano Ramírez of the Autonomous University of Guerrero, calls for theoretical discussion and analytical reflection on a relatively unexplored aspect of violence: socio-political processes linking social spheres associated with crime, with political or state actors, operating within political institutions. From this perspective, the proposed works could focus on the generation of violence and criminal practices in territories struggling with insecurity resulting from organized crime groups, such as the disappearance of people, forced internal displacements, state violence, juvenicide, the expansion of illegal economy, the forced exploitation of natural resources, destruction of the natural environment and all kinds of other negative effects. Our goal is to answer questions such as: What are the individual and collective repercussions or effects of these links? How does violence reflect the links between the economic and political spheres? How are the networks of exchange of political merchandise or illegal goods built? The closing date for submissions is 31 March 2026. The publication of the volume is scheduled for July 2026. Articles (40,000 characters, including bibliographical references) and book reviews (10,000 characters) must be submitted in Spanish or English. Information on editorial requirements can be found on the journal’s website: https://journals.umcs.pl/al/about/submissions#authorGuidelines We appreciate the dissemination of our call. |
