Odporność społeczna przez pryzmat zmian klimatu

Główną tematyką niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie dotychczasowej literatury na temat pojęcia odporności (rezyliencji) społecznej oraz jej budowania i wzmacniania w kontekście zagrożeń naturalnych spowodowanych zmianami klimatu. Analizowane są definicje oraz najczęściej wyróżniane elementy odporności społecznej, a także sposoby jej konceptualizacji w zależności od regionu geograficznego i specyficznych zagrożeń klimatycznych, takich jak powodzie, susze, huragany czy podnoszenie się poziomu morza. W opracowaniu wykorzystano metodę desk research, polegającą na analizie międzynarodowej literatury przedmiotu, na podstawie której podjęto próbę kompleksowego przedstawienia różnych aspektów odporności społecznej i jej konceptualizacji. Szczególne znaczenie w niniejszym artykule ma opis indeksu BRIC jako przykładu skutecznego sposobu pomiaru odporności społecznej. Indeks ten pozwala na ocenę zdolności społeczności do adaptacji i przetrwania w obliczu kryzysów klimatycznych, co jest kluczowe dla przyszłych badań i polityk publicznych.
